The Robbery

The Robbery

You stole my heart and now I just want it back,
once that happens, they'll be nothing that I lack;
it consisted of many gold bars, each worth ten grand,
indelibly stamped, clearly visible, wherever they land.

They were difficult to dispose of but it was still done,
and finally they were paid for easily in a nice lump sum;
then you went away but I'll find you in whatever land,
and after I'm counting notes with my toes in the sand.

Perhaps you'd like to join me sometime, anytime soon,
they'll never get me now because I'm living on the moon;
then remember what you did and then know what I did,
it's never too late, thought of you often after I went and hid.

Now I'm here laughing, since I'm no longer in the cold,
the weight's gone from my shoulders, thanks to 22ct gold.
