THE SEASON OF GOODWILL

Family and friends gather its Christmas timeĀ
the season of goodwill, when church bells chime
We celebrate the birth of Jesus on this holy day
with the giving of gifts. happy to watchĀ children play
We sing carols from yesteryear eat well and hearty
this holidayĀ embraced ,why not it is a birthday party
But.....
We must remember too,Ā people who are more in need
the homeless who have no bed, and no mealĀ to feedĀ
Give a little as you pass him, begging shivering in cold
he is our fellow manĀ let him eat too, showĀ heartĀ of gold
The people who are sick,Ā ones who are aged all alone
just think of them,Ā go take a visit or pick up aĀ phone
Christmas time portraysĀ generosity of spirit," Goodwill to all men"
Be aĀ giving person, show loveĀ compassion and kindness Ā Amen!

Hi Deb Debs,
I think we`ve both got the Christmas bug today haven`t we kiddo!! Well done for this one it`s beautiful sweetie. I love the way you have included folk, young or old who have nobody to visit them and those poor souls who have nowhere to go at this special time of year or at any other time for that matter. We should all remember how lucky we are compared to others and try to pass love and companionship on to others who need it just as much as we do. Well done for a beautifully well written and well thought out piece and a lovely enjoyable read sweetie.
Love and hugs

Hi Ā G IĀ find it so sad that people have to go with outĀ
food warmth ,company even. Ā IĀ just wanted to bring it to peoplesĀ
minds. We have been collecting duvets and pillows for the homeless
and they were distributed last week
Thank you for your kind comments and support of my
writesĀ means a lot
Love n hugs Debs xxĀ
Hey debs I think the true meaning of Christmas gets lost because of gift giving and mr Santa Claus . Jesus s birthday does get lost but we must teach our children and make them aware of life's true meaning .take care BradfordĀ
Hi Ā Rock IĀ think IĀ possibly did`nt get across very well what i was trying toĀ sayĀ in my writeĀ
the first part Ā of it was tinged with a little irony saying while we eat well celebrateĀ
Jesus birthday `s having gifts. we should beĀ sparingĀ a thought for the peopleĀ
who are lest fortunate the homeless the aged who are lonely the people who areĀ
sick to show kindness and goodwill to them.
ThankĀ you for your commentsĀ
Best wishes debsĀ

Hi Debs..I agree with you. The Christmas story after all is Ā all about giving.. God gave us His son as a gift... The giving shouldn't just end with loved ones...let's go out and share with the needy...Those who really need our help...Thanks for allowing God use you in such a way....You've inspired me!!
Lots of love
Hi Rose Yes you have what IĀ was saying perfectly

Lots of love DebsĀ Ā Ā
Ā
beautiful write. and yet such a sadness too.
Hi Ā Lisa Thank you for reading IĀ wrote thisĀ becauseĀ
our little village Ā have been collecting duvetsĀ
toiletries and clothes for the homeless and were delivered
last week it is sad to see so many people homeless,
a sobering thought when we are celebrating Christmas soonĀ
Thanks again Ā Best wishes DebsĀ
Hi Cherie IĀ must admit IĀ did do Santa with my children
but they also knew the story of Jesus and what Christmas was really about
I am proud of them because they are like their father and IĀ that they thinkĀ
of people who are without and would go out of their way to help anyone inĀ
need, they ar`nt bothered about gifts to be honestĀ
Thank you for your comments you have what is Ā the heart of my writeĀ
Love n hugs Debs xox
