The Shopping List

The Shopping List

The jelly had to be green, not orange mon ami,
Leonardo would have approved of the mystery,
roller towel was not available in the olden days,
if it were, he could have wiped Jesus's tears away.

They positioned the flowers at the entrance my dear,
for psychology, a pause, some distance from the beer,
there should be a meter, time it takes to buy a card, no hiccup,
after five minutes, one of those shop clones should say: 'Time's up.'

Salad cream and garlic mayo, now all smooth as silk,
world food beckoned, Leo grabbed a tin of coconut milk,
he moaned about cannelloni, I said it's all in the pasta,
and even that was wrong, the last time I asked her.

Finally, confectionery - an array of sparkling jujubes to go,
'What is all this modern junk, better in the days of Marco Polo.'
