The Snake

The Snake
Slithers silently
Around the
Large tree
Edging closer
and closer
Until it
Can see.
Out of what
Seems to be
nowhere
It engulfs
It’s whole Prey
Squeezing
The life
From an
Unknowing stray.
Stealthily slipping
Around and
Again, waiting
so patiently
for it's next
Meal of the day

Despite its seeming simplicity, I think that this is one of your strangest and most mysterious poems to date; something which mirrors the mysterious nature of the snake itself...and the formatting is something of a masterstroke!
You paint a picture which is really quite chilling...with an inherent sense of threat and danger.
Fantastic!!
