The Sound Of Silence

The Sound Of Silence

Silently, I sit
My heart beating with each tick of the clock, and although
The sun is shining brightly, darkness
Surrounds me.
Part of the universe yet out of this world
Part of the generation yet out in the cold.
Each morning I wake up to a new day yet
In an old way.
Four walls, one room
A place in my mind where I lay in the arms of loneliness.
