The Thief
Relentlessly, in he would creep.
And steal not only my dreams,
But also my sleep.
And in the day I cant escapeÂ
as though I oughts,Â
He takes my day dreams and my thoughts.
In fact the daytime is probably worst,
He burgles my appetiteÂ
And my thirst.Â
I should have seen it at the very start.
When he swapped a racing beatÂ
For my reliable steady heart.
He kidnapped my brain and took hostage of my soul.
I think if I let him,Â
He would swallow me whole.
But he can’t be blamed for any of my grief.
For he has no idea
That he is such a beautiful thief!Â

A Thief of the highest disregard for humanity itself....... to steal the heart and soul of a person ~ to dramatically negative ends ~ is truly unforgivable!!...... your final line threw me for a bit of a loop!!........ Well conceived and BEAUTIFULLY delivered!!......ALL STARS!!..... and.......
