The View

The view from here 
still isn’t perfect 

But I promise you 
it’s a lot goddam better 

I’m not looking 
to make a comeback 

I’ve been already 
to the lowest of lows 

I’m the highest 
I have ever been 

And the views 
are quite marvelous 

But I know 
that this is just a start 

For I have
many steps ahead 

Just because 
I’m no longer in red 

Doesn’t mean 
I’m ready to stop 

My journey 
has just begun 

You know 
stories of abuse 

Heartbreak too 
and lost love 

You know 
of self-hate 

And my 
past traumas 

But that 
is all behind 

Sure you
still may read a write 

But not from 
words of fear 

But rather 
words of comfort 

It is 
who I am 

It is
who I was 

That boy 
now is a man 

No longer 
willing to hide 

Afraid of 
NOTHING 

STRONG 
and CUNNING 

So beware 
to my audience 

My friends 
and family 

This next chapter 
to be filled with more 

Bliss and happiness 
trial And error 

Mixed with 
CONFIDENCE 

Ah yes 
this will be 
MAGICAL 

MY LIFE 
MOVING FORWARD 

Will be 
just like 
POETRY 

NO RULES 
they can’t 
CONTAIN ME 
nor 
ANYONE ELSE 
The past has made me 
A TRUE BADASS 
No shit will be taken 
No threats can stop me 
No woman can break me 
No more being taken 
FOR GRANTED 

SUCCESS 
will be met 
GREED 
will be let 
GO 
Passion 
will be 
LIVED
