The Whip and Kitten

The Whip and Kitten

Although He knew it laid him lowΒ
And hung him out to dryΒ
He sometimes came to take a swig
With a smile and blood shot eyes
I heard the man in whisper
He would skip into the hop
Take a walk with a blind tiger
For not long though he would stopΒ
Always returning smitten
To the place that stole his heartΒ
With its warm embrace of kindness
When his world crumbled apart
Enclosed cheers he found inside
Within those darkened walls
Cher and Dolly graced the frames
Lapping up the curtain callΒ
A small blood diamond in the rough
A thousand stories to be writtenΒ
Emerging from the watering hole
They called The Whip and KittenΒ
