The Wild West

Back in the 1800's, when the old towns were made of wood,
You'd survive on what you were good at, you did all that you could,
The wild west was ruthless, and hard to survive at best,
You would work all day on the railway line, without hardly getting rest.
When the gold rush hit, small towns sprung up, a town built around a mine,
They worked all day in all conditions, just to make a dime,
This is a tale of a small town, more whiskey than water was here,
But that is not the half of it, you'll find there is more to fear.
Elizabeth Banks was a barman's daughter, she grew up in this small town,
She would take over the bar one day, that's where her future was bound,
She met a local gold miner, when she had come of age,
The husband caught her flirting one day, which set him in a rage.
Elizabeth pleaded with her husband, saying it's not what he thought,
He dragged her to the Sheriff, and on the way there they fought,
The Sheriff would conduct a hearing, with all the towns folk the next day,
And after spending the night in a cell, the trial would start today.
The towns folk agreed that it was nothing, and that she was free to go,
But the husband was planning punishment, and little did she know,
The husbands reputation was damaged, embarrassment or whatever it was,
He was going to get some payback, on her innocence just because.
He found her and took her, when all of the towns folk slept,
He led her out the barman's place, and out the front door he crept,
He took her up to the mine, with a lantern way deep inside,
And tied her up in a mining cart, her freedoms were denied.
He had a cart at the entrance, which he dropped some dynamite in,
Lit the fuse and thought to himself, you'll pay for your flirtatious sin,
He pushed the cart down the descent, and started walking back home,
His wife is going to die tonight, in the dark and all alone.
Elizabeth heard the cart coming, from a fair distance away,
I'm not dying for something I didn't do, I won't leave this world no way,
The cart wasn't near her when it exploded, she thought that she would be fine,
But the explosion rocked all the supports, and down started coming the mine.
When she regained consciousness, she felt the weight of the rock,
She was pinned in the cart painless, she thinks that it was the shock,
She tried to scream as loud as she could, but knew that nobody was there,
It was only a matter of time, before she would run out of air.
Elizabeth died but was out of the mine, she felt herself resurrect,
Something had granted her a second chance, and she was going to collect,
She stood apon the collapsed mine, looking down at the folk far away,
Looks like they have her husband, and looks like he is going to pay.
The hangman slung her husbands noose, over his jealous fat head,
She had to act quickly, she herself wanted him dead,
Her eyes rolled back as she lifted her arms, in the sunlight it was very warm,
And conjured up a tempest, she summoned a great desert storm.
The desert sand whipped forward, towards the town made of wood,
And it hit the town ferociously, much harder than it usually could,
They grabbed her husband and all ran inside, to shelter from the sand,
A couple of people didn't make it, and it was all done by her hand.
She walked down to the main street, to where her husband was taken,
She had the look of an unkempt woman, or someone that had been forsaken,
The storm ceased when she got to the sheriff, office all dusty, a sight,
She clapped her hands and pointed at it, and the whole building caught alight.
There was no escaping the intense inferno, it was the end of her game,
She summoned the powers within herself, and the whole town now was in flame,
The towns folk all perished without a hint, they were never fore warned,
But you do know the old saying, Hell Hath No Fury Like A Woman Scorned!
