The Willow Tree

From a sunny day that fades awayÂ
To the starry night to the newborn day
The Willow Tree stays
Between the valley that we lay.
Days to weeks, weeks to months we will stay
In the valley that we lay
A strong barrier
It creates in that valley we once laid.Â
In that Willow Tree I will sit
I’ll think about the things I once did
Under that Willow Tree you will stand
Telling me your command
My face is a rainy day
In that valley we once laid
Sitting in that Willow Tree
In that valley that we laid
It was once between the distance from you to me
I’m the only one sitting in this tree.
Away you walk into a sunny day, away from the valley that we laid
Bigger the distance from you to me.
The start of the rot of the tree.
The start of the falling of the leaves
But in that Willow Tree I still stay
In the valley that we laid.
Although you walked away
From that alley that we laid
The rotted Willow Tree still stands
I’m the only thing left in the tree;
There's no leaf to be seen
So I will rot in this tree
I’ll rot with the leaves and the memories you’ve left me.
One day I’ll leave this alley.
I’ll climb down from this rotted tree
To find someone, to find a new day, a new valley, a new tree.
That day is hundreds away.
From the valley, I alone, stay.
