The Wind Speaks

As the drums beat, the mother earth stands still, as she listens to the song of the wild, it echoes through the willow
The golden amber of a gem, begins to set, where the sky, and the earth, engage, in promise, they marry
The wind speaks in many languages, it comes in, and it leaves, taking hold of the old, and givingĀ lifeĀ anew
Take hold of your heart, let the weak, be strong, let the oak trees protect, asĀ the motherĀ fox, willĀ den her puppy
As the wind picks up, the leaves shake, the limbs begin to bow down, as though they ask for mercy, begging
Let my feet be planted, let my chin be up, as I look up to the spirits, my lungs call out, Ā let our sick be well
In times of hardship, in times of war, in times of sadness, in times of woe, in times of shame, in times of pain
Speak to me, and speak to theĀ nativeĀ people, where my feet take me, where my horse travels, the wind will be behind me
ToĀ guide the trail, to not fear, to understand, we are not all the same, on earth, or in heaven, though brave, we shall remain
