The Witch

I was walking by, when I passed the witch
Who sits not too far from the ditch
She called me in a raised voice
Way above the street’s noise
I came back to listen not in a haste
She said she saw my future in a daze
Though she said something good about my love life
I just hope this time, she is right
‘cos it’s rather too hard
To endure another broken heart
She said it’s as white as snow
I asked, how did she know?
That the next one would walk down the aisle
I asked, I just hope he is not idle?
She said I need to believe
But it’s just what I perceived
My heart has been broken too many times
And it’s difficult to accept what I conceived as lies
Do you blame me?
What would you do if you were me?
I don’t believe in her powers
But don’t think I’m a doubter
To be sincere she has made me prouder
With that little encounter
I just hope she’s right
That the time is ripe
I wish he shows up with flowers
‘cos I can’t resist such offer

Hi Sweet Rose,
While living in California in the late 1960's, I discovered there are two types of witches. The first, the evil ones that practice "black witchcraft", but there is also a pure side to witchcraft, ones who practice the "white" variation, who believe that all you do in the world will come back on you three fold, and try to make humanity happy. So I hope it was a "white witch" that made this prognostication.
Hugs, Peace and Love,
xox Larry
Hi Sweet Larry, LOL.....this sure is a white witch as I doubt if a black witch would talk about love as they are known to be wicked. Thanks for your words.
Hugs.....lots of love
