These bricks
I watch you pick up a brick,
And throw it at my direction.
I hope and pray that I don’t get hit,
But maybe it will ease the tension.
It’s force impacts me harder than ever,
And makes me fall to my knees.
My body’s weak and my minds still clever,
But there is still determination left in me.
Every time I get hit and bruised,
It makes my skin grow thick.
You think that I am amused,
But really you are quite sick.
Your bricks aren’t as stable as mine,
For mine have a clear reason,
I focus on being kind,
And give life a deeper meaning.
Instead of of breaking down my walls,
I build them up so greatly,
all the things to me you call,
It makes me want to hate me.
Every single brick that you threw,
I picked it up and made something.
If I were you I underestimate me too,
But I will let you know this one thing.
Much like a stack of bricks,
I have a strong foundation,
You thought your words may stick,
But who I am is my creation.
I will keep building my levels high,
And leave the negativity in the past,
I will watch the days fly by,
And my perseverance will forever last.
You  never got a hold of me,
And for that I am truly grateful,
Because of you being a bully,
Much like a wall I am now stable.

Hurts make us stronger or bitter or both but inner strength gets us through Shaikyrra, nice write...hugs ?
Thank you ? you are so right!
I like the way you used this metaphorical stack of bricks... As weapons as a wall etc. There is a lot of strength in this poem. You've written it well x
You bet!  People tend to say “you’ve built a wall around yourself” and they are exactly right.  However, there’s strength and beauty within that wall.  And that was exactly why I was trying to portray.  Thank you for the feedback?
Yes Indeed!!...the imagery that you've chosen definitely adds to the overall powerful truth behind the intent here......ALL STARS!!…..well done dear poet sister...….LOVE & ROCKETS!!…….T xo  : )
Thank you so much.  I’m delighted that you see the trueness and intent of this poem.  ?
