These Nerves

These Nerves

I used to love drinking coffee
now my nerves bother me
Now I stick to tequila
and chamomile tea

They keep my heart from hurting
and at night help me to rest
When I have neither to calm me
on through the storm I must press

I stay up with the owls at night
though, I eat like a small bird
My sister says it's not healthy
it all goes back to these nerves

It pains me terribly to think
the dog wonders what he's done wrong
He must be sad that I quit walking him
unlike you, I know he's sad I'm gone

Hey KARA!!..... the simplicity and the carefully chosen words work beautifully to create these compelling phrases....... moved me to wonder if 'These Nerves' was referring to a nerve condition that made you stop walking the dog....,I only wondered because I have a chronic nerve condition called C.I.D.P!!......no fun!..... anyway, I'm probably off base here...,, regardless, an excellent sense of rhythm and timing here!!......,ALL STARS!!....,, well done!....,. and...... WELCOME to COSMO!!.....LOVE and ROCKETS!!......T xo ?☀✴✳?
