Wait for the Spill

Wait for the Spill

There’s a hole in my heart
all the way through
Cold water is rising,
and I only see blue

My body is strong,
but do I have the will?
To tread on forever,
or wait for the spill

Still, the sun rises each day
it shines bright in my eyes
I wear rose colored glasses
and a smile to get by

The makeup will soon wash off
that pretty rose color will fade
Until the hole in my heart fills
I’ll have to endure the rain

Such an emotive piece of work- touching and nicely written-I liked this very much
