Poem -

THEY ALL FLOAT

THEY ALL FLOAT

At the bottom of a bottle floats a fabricated smile; An inebriated mask to wear for a woman in denial...While I'm cradling belligerence my throat crowds with bile, my stomach is sour, my conscience is vile. Senile thoughts of a past that is all but forgotten, rotten flesh upon scars where the razor was trodden: A plot to escape written on skin with a blade! another bloody mess where heinous memories are laid. The escapade escalates as my heart rate elevates, a cigarette is lit with more pills to add taste, with haste I indulge, in my belly they float-A fictitious creature lurks in a yellow raincoat...Bitterly seasoned, as good as it gets; My mouth has my tongue on its hind legs to beg. Licking my wounds, washing them down; A labyrinth of venom, in poison I drown...False pride induced, the beast inside is set loose to ravish the pain of malicious abuse; The truth, then, is hidden in a playground forbidden where I am smitten with the pantomimes of Opiate Children. Silent charades, with love I have made-A toxic cocktail with which I fornicate. This euphoric feeling will not abate! But maybe I'd rather it NOT go away...perhaps I would rather drown than be saved...What if I choose the defiled and depraved!? Just let me soak in the beverage of sin! If I do not submerge then I will just try again! Keep all your anchors, life-jackets and ropes! You can drill tiny holes in your life-saving boat! For now I need liquor to quench my parched throat! Leave me here in the sewer where we ALL float...

Brilliant double edged blade of verse. Fantastic write I recognised the title and expected a different kind of piece. Seriously good.

Just read it again and had to give it a pin to re-read at leisure. Could really do with a picture of Pennywise.
