THEY CRIED

THEY CRIED

When is the falling of another rain?
cry the children; to wash off the pain
The land is submerged in a flood of blood

with eyewitnesses blown by a wild wind
Piles of ashes sit in the seats of an empty plane
which landed miles from its destination
Tears gush from bleeding hearts
Friends and families mourn
their beloved
held in death’s unforgiving grips
Their wreaths wrestle unsteady hands
Their hearts are like a dissolving spray
Their minds, mad

Strength, stretched out of its elasticity,
they curse life and the heavens
When is the falling of another rain?
Boeing 737 Max 8 has fallen with its passengers
The living are shaken
The life in them trembles at the sight of death
They ask ‘when is the falling of another rain?’
