Things Children Say (2)

Things Children Say (2)

'Why is that man kissing another man daddy?'
'Because he loves him and likes him very much.'
'Can they make children?'
'No, they can not - they have to adopt them.'
'What does adopt mean?'
'It's an organization which can give children.'
'What's an organization?'
'Enough, do your homework and stop asking questions.'

Later.

'Why is that lady kissing another lady?Β  Β
'Because they like each other.'
'Can they make children?'
'No, they can not - they have to get them by 'other means.'
'What does 'other means' mean?'
'It means that you're asking too many questions
Β and you should finish your homework.'

Β What questions did I used to ask - not those,
Β there was nothing to explain;
Β there was nothing out of the ordinary,
Β that's it - the whole damn thing
Β is out of the ordinary.

Kids are notoriously asking questions. well written piece Terry I did smile just because of the child's curiosity and how it frustrates some parents to no end because of the curiosity of children. though I can understand how it must be impossible to explain the intricacies of love and attractions to the same sex. Even as an adult it can be quite daunting to grasp. I do like the flow and nuance of your work. thank you for sharingΒ
