This Sterile Gray Room

This Sterile Gray Room

I miss you sweetheart

You did not want to leave

The sterile room was gray with gloom

And I… my soul was crying

We were together too short a time

One spirit with two hearts

So familiar we intertwined
Β

How can I be fulfilled without you?

Finding solace in ink alone

I drip painted rainbows of sorrow

Shaping what I share

Broken still is my heart

Buried deep inside my bones

Secluded, separate, silent... torn
Β

In solitude I ache alone

Recalling your persistent pain

The demon that ravaged your body

Would not be beaten or restrained

You wrestled bravely for so long

Fought for just one more memory

But then… you were gone
Β

Daily it rips at me

Though I know you are at peace

Time moves too quickly

I want it to slow a pace

Life goes on, but I’m standing still

In that sterile, gray, hospital room

Where I whispered, β€œIt’s okay love… let go…”

Thank you Darkly. Was in a sad place this morning.Β

May I ask a Question? What does pinning do? Does it secure a poem to your profile page? Do I use it or others?Β

Thanks for reading a commenting, means a lot. Blessings.
