THREE MEN IN A ROTE

Socrates held court, his pupil Plato was whom he taught,
Aristotle thought he was better but his ideas came to nought,
Phaedrus leaned on his columns in the Grecian Times,
and wondered why in his poetry that nothing rhymes.
Now, all this business as to why we are all here,
for Gods sake gentlemen, your answers will be near,
why do men climb mountains where there is no air?
that's exactly it dear fellows because there damn well there.
Why are there four men, when you talk of Phaedrus bore?
because he crops up to tell us that 'what's less is more,'
you want answers, what happens after 'Brexit', something new,
stop asking questions, enjoy your lot, like a womb with a view.
Socrates swished a fly whisk as tho' to dismiss all and sundry,
'You fools should stop whining and perhaps you'll understand one day.'
