A Brighter Future

A Brighter Future

Frosts of chill, oceans bitter in freeze, awaiting a new day

Mountains white, trees covered in ice, captivating crystal drops

Like a chandelier of sunlight, it gleams

The thirst and hunger for more

The hands of our forefathers be known

As spring draws near, its breaking dawn

A festival of happiness, a reunion, bringing good fortune

Remembering our roots, where we came from, who we are?

Ancient times, our ancestors, honorable, the holy divine

To see him more clearly, to follow unto the lunar new year

Begin in faith, to enhance, to bring our children riches of longevity

Be filled with epiphany, our kings brought the gifts of hope

A new beginning, let us celebrate with fire crackers in the sky

Streamers that whirl in colors of fire red, and the deepest yellow

Head dresses, gowns of silk, and beads of silver and gold

Dance in  a parade of joyous life, for these three things I bring

Let freedom ring in, a fortune cookie, none written could be told

For it is not in writing, but it lives inside our heart and mind

Keep praying for a brighter future for our youth and the end of HIV/AIDS

As we excel outward in a festival of passion to live, and to see our children play
