Poem -

The Next Night

One cup set out for coffeeĀ
The morning rain is damp and cold.
Easier to stay in bed then to feel all the pain.
I only have the dreamsĀ
The ones we shared andĀ
Never told.
Now it is impossible.
Heavy weariness is my friend.
It reassures me I'm alive.
That my grief is prodding me along
It is holding me so tight.
I can only breathe with every tear.
I just want to make it through the next night.
