Time

Years ago just yesterday
A thought had come to mind
Right then it seems is when
Time started to unwind
One day soon so long ago
You held me in that space
I was ill prepared that night
To meet there face to face
Far away somewhere beside me
Laying in the dark
I had not meant to feel a thing
Save for that intilectual spark
Somewhere in the distance
Holding you so close
Real for just a moment
Now once again a ghost
I dont think you'll see me
Though you are always in my view
I try to trust in fate
But whats the point of you?
Now I am more lonely
Than had I not once seen
Gazing at the stars
That grass that is more green
What force inside me pushes
Against all that is worth while
What is it that demands the heads
Of those that make me smile
Why was I introduced
To the softest side of me
To watch it harden quickly
As it turned away to flee
I hope you will remember
I hope you dont forget
That moment that time stood still
The night that our minds met

It's interesting how retrospect works when considering the effects of time on a life......an impressive use of the A,B,A,B rhyme scheme.......delving into the arena of self reflection and those times past where the grass appeared a little greener......well crafted dear poet sister!!......ALL STARS!!......LOVE & ROCKETS!!......T xo ??✴❤✴?
Thank You, Tony. Going through a lot right now, can't tell you how much being noticed by such talented writers really improves my mood. ?
The contradictory yet caustic comments here did not go unnoticed, Twilla.
Just to paraphrase a line or two.
A good rhyme scheme helps to keep this rolling right along.
The grass ain't always greener on the other side of the fence.
Nice write,
