To Kill A Butterfly
To kill a butterfly such as I, you must first not know beauty. To kill a butterfly such as I, you must not know mercy. To kill a butterfly such as I, you must be hungry. To kill a butterfly such as I, you must be hurting.Â
I say this to say that you know the struggle but you know not that I too know struggle. You know pain but you know not that I too know pain. You know suffering but you know not that I too know suffering. You know growth but you know not that I too know growth.Â
How I became a butterfly? I grew. I became a butterfly through pain. I became a butterfly through suffering. I became a butterfly through struggle.Â
I took myself to a place I never knew. I had the wildest dream of flying only to wake up crawling. Overtime I began to become bigger, bigger than anything I saw that grew. Overtime I became beauty with colors that’s unknown to falling.Â
Bigger and bigger I began to grow again. Closer and closer I’ve felt to the end. I surrounded myself with what would be myself. In so much darkness and the feeling of lowering my health. I became a shell surely thinking I would die. Then broke through as a beautiful butterfly.Â
I saw my wildest dream come true, flying I must’ve been a sight. Cocooned in darkness not knowing when ima see light. We’re the same but there’s only one difference between you and I. You actually know what it’s like to kill a butterflyÂ
