To The Bone

To The Bone
You gave me a single black rose
Exactly what is it you propose?
My nightmares have come into reality
Along with a dying sense of finality
All of my dreams have turned to black
After you stabbed me in the back
We were in love once upon a time
My heart was your and yours heart mine
Something happened along that road
And I had to carry your heavy load
White lightning and whisky that’s your style
I no longer have the power to make you smile
Your whisky relays the lies through your tongue
What are we to do now that all has come undone?
You had your roaming hands all over another man
Seems you have hurt me just about all that you can
The sun will still come up in the morning
But my mood may change without warning
There will still be the calm after the storm
I have still got my heart to keep my warm
You made me hate you to the bone
I would much rather live my life alone
Your many whisky glasses leave a stain
Now it’s only your ashes that remain
