Today

Today

It is cold during the night
During the day, it's far too bright
I mend the rules and I follow my heart
But we will always be too far apart

I see your eyes, they are dull and dejected
Making me feel even more rejected
The moon may cry, and the sun may scream
But as you know, it's not as it seems

If I never take a breath, I can never die
But if I never take a chance, I'll never get to fly
Most would agree, that safer is better
But they'd also tell you to never say never

Isn't that the beauty?
In a way, this is my civil duty
To educate the irrevocably arrogant
This obligation is eminent

To be loved or to be lost
This doesn't come at any cost
One day you're gone
This idea is the one I'm most drawn
