Love And Understanding

Today is the day I expose my soul
To all who will listen and debate
The world needs love and understanding
We're in such a sad sorry state

Is there still hope for rescuing mankind
From the evils of those at the top
Bent on destruction for such selfish reasons
Or has humanity forgotten the plot

Why are we here on this beautiful planet
I'm sure it wasn't to destroy
Just witness a summer's day in the country
A glorious scene to enjoy

Has the world passed the point of no return
I really don't think it's too late
We can still turn it around to be less selfish
And to have more loving fate

Am I a dreamer, are there others like me
With faith in the will of mankind
To survive these dark days on our journey
Till that magic formula, we find
