Today's Rain

Today's Rain

the clouds are thick and folding
heavily pregnant with rain
the scorching sun has gone into hiding
the deserts will drink again
scattered seeds will sink deeper
empty vessels wait to fill
the smell of petrichor amidst the pitter-patter
will embrace the serenity that settles in
today, raindrops shall wash away these teardrops
there's going to be a sea of harvest
the ticking clock will stop
and our myalgic muscles will find rest
today, the rain is sweeping the dirty streets
today, the rain is strengthening the weak
