Toe Tags

~Toe Tags~

A toe tag helps identify
our mortal shell if we should die.
And die we must, no need to try
to run and hide from death.

~☬☬☬☬☬☬☬~

Why worry, then, about our death?
For in the end, that final breath
we draw–a husk is all that's left.
We'll be home, by and by.

~☬☬☬☬☬☬☬~

For death is not the end, you see
and while on Earth we cease to be,
we're homeward bound–such joy and glee
in Heaven's boundless breadth.

~☬☬☬☬☬☬☬~

He'll take us in his loving hands
then walk with us through gilded lands.
His footprints in coarse grainy sands
assures us He is nigh.

Hello Dean...

I wonder if we get our name tattooed on our butt would we still need a toe tag?

My toe doesn't hang a Christmas Ornament, it certainly shouldn't have to hang a tag...

I'd rather just have it on my butt...

On the other side I could put, World ? My ***...

Great poem Dean. I especially like the lines

I realise that this is not the whole message of the poem but it's a rule I live my life by. Anything can happen at any time so enjoy life while you can.
