TOGETHER WE STAND

Some people don't want to feel your pain
They say; Get over it! Let go!
But it takes as long as it needs to take
They just don't understand or know
They want you to be positive
Hide your pain behind a smile
But the journey is so long and I wonder
Will I cross the last painful mile
But I found the strength, the courage
From those I met along the way
They too, walk the path of healing
I was enlightened by what they had to say
I learned from their wisdom, their experience
I connected to their pain
My heart learned to embrace the journey
That there's nothing done in vain
The journey led me to discover
What I was made of, deep inside
I learned when we stand together
We shall conquer and divide
