Tool

Tool

Tool
I am a tool
Another cog in the machine
A constant use for me
I fix
I fix and fix
Till your new
All the while breaking myself
I plant your broken pieces
I water and nourish them
I treasure them tight
I fix and fix
Until you are new
Not a scratch left behind
And if you are missing pieces
I take my own and replace yours
I am a tool
I break myself
To fix you
And when I am so broken
I can no longer fix
I am discarded
Left behind
Not a thought left to me
Not a thank you
I am forgotten
I am a tool
It is my job to fix
And when the next person comes
I hide my brokenness
I strap on the tape
And slather the glue
And I fix
