Trinidad princess

I want to share a secret
And this is a secret that nobody doesn't know
So now it's time for me to share it
With the people of Trinidad and Tobago

But I know that they won't believe me
When I tell them the truth
But still, I,m going to tell them
Soon as I done eating my fried saltfish and breadfruit

Now this might come as a shock
But I saw her with my own eyes
She was sitting on her front step
Under a full moon in the sky

Trinidad have a princess
And nobody didn’t know
And she lives in a board house 
Down in Pala Seco

And she don’t have a kingdom
a castle or a palace
And she was wearing a cotton dress
Not gown in satin and lace

And she don’t have royal blood
Running through her veins
And when she have a headache
She takes two Advil for the pain

She don’t have a carriage 
To take where she wants to go
She takes a maxi taxi 
When she going to San Fernando

How can she be a princess? you will ask
If she don’t have these things
But the answer is very simple
So let me begin

The definition of princess
is a beautiful and outstanding woman in detail
and a princess is a sought after person
and her heart is the prize, the holy grail

and once a man saw a woman
all that it takes is one look
for him to want to start a romance
just like in a fairy tale storybook

and he would become her servant
best friend and confidant
and make her home a castle
and give her anything that she want

and open the door for her 
and giving her your coat if she's cold 
the small and simple things you do for her
are the greatest treasures in the world

so the first time I saw her
she's was my princess I know
she's a fairy tales princess
living in Trinidad and Tobago

and she don’t have glass slippers
or a diamond and emerald tiara
she don’t have a golden pumpkin 
or prince charming looking for her

but she know that I love her
and I will give her my all
and will we play our Amazon Echo
and dance to our own ballroom hall

she is my love 
and my love is my princess
and she don't need any royalty
for me to make her feel like this

I may or may not be a prince,
but you are nothing less than a princess
and for the rest of your life
I will always make you feel like this

A girlfriend is a precious gift 
that shouldn't be taken for granted.
Show her that by treating her as a princess 
Give her nothing but love respect and kindness
