Poem -

Truth/Untruth

/Too large eyes set too far apart,

Prominent gums shielding sharp tongue,

Barbed words piercing, lodge in your heart,

Identify, delineate all that is wrong.

/Washed face pink, no added paint,

Spare lanky frame no added curves,

Hair wind adjusted, no hint of complaint,

A woman who leads rather than serves.

/Long lashes shade dark liquid eyes,

Plump lips a foundation for playful half smiles,

Words agreeable not there to chastise,

Enrapture, encapture all to her wiles.

/Face perfect as an edited image,

Rounded and curved wherever you look,

Bold hair and clothing act as her plumage

A seductive, ephemeral, all changing book.

/I strive to be gentle but am laced with corruption,

The good you see a selected facade,

One partner all smiles, sweet words no correction,

The other, abrasive, too searching, too hard.
