Two-Faced Esteem

Two-Faced Esteem

Have you met me yet?

I'm the girl that's easy to forget

The girl that talks and no one listens

I'm the girl who makes bad decisionsĀ

I'm not seen nor am I heard

My mere existence is absurd

I'm the nuisance you ignore

I'm the annoying eye sore

I'm the burden in your way

The one who hurts by what you say

I'm the girl you don't know about

Have you met me yet?Ā

I'm the girl that's hard to forget

The girl who talks and everyone listens

I'm the girl who makes good decisionsĀ

I'm always seen and always heard

My pleasant presence is preferred

I'm the spot light you can't ignore

I'm the beauty you adore

For me, you'll go out of your way

I'm the girl who gets compliments all day

I'm the girl you know about

Do you remember me?

Of course you don't, you forgot

I'm the first girl, how could you not

My mistake thinking you could

A false hope wishing you would

Not that you will, but don't worry

This is the end of my story

I'm gone and no one's life changed

I'm dead and their smiles remained

My body found, I'm called Jane Doe

You scanned my obituary as no one you know

Do you remember me?

Of course you do, how could you forget

I'm the second girl you met

My mistake thinking you could

There's no reason why you should

You'll never forget my story

When you hear I'm dead, you'll hurry

I'm gone and everyone's life changedĀ

I'm dearly missed as their pained

My body found in a crash with Jane Doe

My grave has a tombstone as someone you know
