Two Feathers Proud

There are those who
say pride
comes before any fall ..
But having
struggled so long, just
to get off the ground ..
We are
standing firmly
together, at least two
feathers proud ..
And although not yet
flying ..
This is that moment,
just prior
to take off, when we
are each
smiling wildly and so
openly ..
Like lovers do, out loud ..
