Two strangers

Two strangers

Two strangers, different skin tone – pure white,
approached us (helpless children) and I took flight.
I saw unknown faces, I panicked and ran crying,
trying to find the ones I trusted – my parents.
Left my brother and sister with parcels standing.
Thoughts flashed – fear gripped – panic struck
assumptions rose upon arrival of two strangers,
I thought the man and woman were kidnappers.
Brought my parents, strangers appeared again
so jovial with three Rolo chocolate bars.
One for me – one for brother – one for sister
they liked our cuteness the miss and mister.
Don’t talk to strangers I was taught – told,
so I wrongly judged two kind souls.
Story ancient – children grown – strangers old,
but precious memories last a lifetime – forever.

What a sweet sweet write Stephanie, it's very hard isn't it to get the balance right, though I think it has gone too far the wrong way these days...very much enjoyed ?
