TWO THOUSAND AND THREE

TWO THOUSAND AND THREE

You left
I never said a word
The words 'i love you' i never heard
I kept quiet, you hated when i spoke
Maybe that's why you ran away with another bloke
I know you hated when i cried
But i was only 2, mum i needed you
I grew up without you
We never built a sandcastle on the beach
You were never at my Christmas concert on the front seat
I grew up neglected and rejected
By my own mum
As i got older my heart felt kind of broken
Kind of numb
You eventually came back
And we tried to make amends
But the love you supposedly had for me was just pretend
You left again
My life isn't the same
I felt hurt by a person i was supposed to trust
Was the love i had for you after all this time
Still not good enough? I guess not
Maybe you forgot i still cared

I always tried my best
You left.
