Somewhere along the way
It all fell apart
you're losing the game
so you throw away the cards
the blame goes around
from mouth to mouth
like the sharpening of knives
to cut you down

Maniacal laughter from the
demon on the left side
a cry of warning from the
angel on the right
say it isn't so simple
back and forth in your mind
the space in between
is such a thin line, crossed
the weight comes crashing down

hang on to the thread
it's not over until its over
I can hear you screaming
how much longer

Old wounds open again
hurt, the pain that never leaves
unraveling, releasing the darker side
that's turned to jealousy, hate and greed
takes nothing to turn the wrong way
hands off of the wheel
foot on the gas, face set
in stone, heart made of steel
the sword of fire
blocking the gates
the punishment given
for the mistake that was made

A taste of the forbidden vine
this is the price to be paid
it's one hell of a fight
from the cradle to the grave
the voice in your ear
is the sweetest sound
lost brother, lost sister
can you be found
neglect the lesson
you learned as a child
now the journey ahead
