We once walked side by side

I asked your name

You smiled and gave it to me.

Your stories flowed effortlessly

Your pain hidden behind walls

I knew I could one day break down

But then..why would I want to?

Destroy this childlike man

In search of his mother

Talking in rounds of nothing

Yet screaming underneath, love me!

For I am a motherless child

You are pieces of me which have been broken

Though I am deformed beside you

You can not see my pain for what it is

Only as another burden

I was just meant to walk beside you

Not hand in hand

Maybe love you in kisses and sweet nothings

Lust for you because your innocence

Is irresistible.

Your lips kissable.

But I would never be IN love

Enough to keep you.

We are strangers

Somewhere down the road we will depart

And I will be as heartless as you found me

Maybe carrying pieces of you

To piece myself back together. 

Maybe carrying pieces of you .

To paint my memoir of lost men

To someday leave this behind

As a faint memory of those I have loved

Until I couldn't.

Until love fell out of love with me

And I with it.

As I have only known love

To be heartless. And faceless.

As only I have only known love

To be a constant stranger.
