UNWRITTEN MEMORIES

You threw me out into the cold
Hoping I would perish
But, God came down to keep me warm
And spoke words that I would forever cherish
He whispered child, remember I right here for you
And no matter who is unkind, who is cruel
Dry your eyes now and claim your power
Forgive those that act like a fool
These people that are in the way
Will try to take you down
Despite the cold upon your body child
I will keep you warm, so hold your ground
Death is not written in your forecast
Your time on this earth is not quite through
Look around you child, for you must believe
That wherever you are, I will always be there too
It seemed like hours that I stood in the freezing snow
The angel that I made, had long turned to ice
The slippers that I wore, turned as blue as my feet
The frozen smile that she wore wasn’t very nice
When I called you mother the reaction that I got
Will remain with me until the day that I die
When I recall the innocent words spoken by that child
I’ll only shake my head again asking why
Now I sit here today in this world a grown woman
Recalling parts of the past like times of yore
God still whispers in my ear, he is here beside me still
And I can sometimes feel the cold, but now I’m feeling so much more…
