I don't know if I'm even qualified to comment on this as I am not a black man, but white.
However, I do think it is admirable that you care enough about your race to advocate doing the right thing where families are concerned.
Much the same could be said about all races, colors and creeds.
We are all God's children after all.
We all bleed red when cut, we all cry tears that are wet and salty, and we all should be held accountable for the well-being of our families and surrounding community.
