Utopia

Utopia

I gently touch the veil between reality and dreams; floating from one to the other through a coverlet of tulle –

I kiss the blissful sleep, so I may continue through utopia; sighing at my consciousness that brings it to a close –

I caress the dark, running my fingers through its velvetiness; mapping every contour and placing it in my memoir –

The crescent smiles down upon me, as I meander with my musing; soothingly, stroking my skin with her lucent dust –

But, perception filters through the shutters of my mind; shinning a torch into the darkest corners of my sanity –

Alertness resumes and, absoluteness my enemy once again; I breathe in the dusky air that blew awareness back –

And I despise its portrait hanging starkly on the wall, glaring back at me; no longer knowing if reality or a dream –

Hi Tony, IΒ΄m not too sure what Astral projection actually is? The poem is really about the state between sleep and consciousness and reality and dreams.....what is reality? I was thinking it's a fine line between these. When I wrote of the portrait hanging starkly on the wall, I was also thinking in Oscar Wilde. I enjoy writing about all this type of things! Love and best wishes Caron xxΒ

Thanks Lisa, for your kind comments! Don't you need to be nominated to win? Although, sometimes I'm a little confused as to how all that works! Best wishes Caron xx
