Valuable times

Closed eyes,

I start to count to ten,

You are excited, breathe of happiness,

Searching for a special place to hide,

A joyful shuffle to ensure silence.

Ready or not here I come,

I hear a secret giggle of joy,

My Daddy is playing with me,

That is all you want for now.

I pretend to not see you,

In your favourite spot.

I search for you, saying,

Not in the bedroom,

Not in the lounge under the table,

Oh my goodness,

Not in the bathroom,

Not in the kitchen,

Oh no, where are you hiding,

Another quiet giggle,

Eventually you emerge and repeat, tut tut tut,

You couldn’t find me.

Okay my turn again.

Such short a time, yet so valuable,

To you and me.
