Vanished Twin System

system down

it appears,
now that I
am waking up,

it is not myself
I have been seeking,

though searching
I was,
I was looking for you,

for all those long years

- even though you were

always there,
just beyond this world.

How strangely happy
I have become now
after all those lonely years.

Your presence
feels like a bed
slowly warming up
on a frosty night –

This is the first of a series of poems I wrote when I found out (in february 2017) I should have had a twin brother. He vanished in the womb. Ever since I have always felt alone  in this world. I have sort of learned to deal with being a Vanished/Womb twin survivor.
