Vanity

Profound vanity
Conjures selfish thoughts
Grazing lovers
Barren heart bought
for a costly price
And like a vice
Chokes your soul
now cold as ice

Gwen very nicely written and your poem strikes a poetic chord and thought within me.
For some people go through life with rose tinted spectacles, very expensive designer rose tinted spectacles, who think they are superior in their looks, the way they talk to others, or more aptly talk down to them,
The big swanky car they drive and spare me on this one, how much they earn.
And vanity in these said people can sadly last a lifetime.
But as said earlier SOME people, for the majority I meet every day are honest and level headed and live in the real world and can see the woods from the trees.
Just like caring poets (and apologies for any tirade) for Vanity should be given the cold shoulder and hurriedly shown the door.
And thanks Gwen for your more than well written the food for thought poem.❤️

I like that analogy my good friend :) very expensive rose tinted glasses. So apt indeed. You are a wise mind and a good soul. Many thanks for reading this one and leaving your wisdom next to it. I am always so grateful to receive your thoughts đź’›
