Victoria

Victoria

History belongs to the victor
But what about Victoria?
He has nothing to do with her success.

She is a woman of her own rights
She walks her own path
She falls but she picks herself back up.

He may hold the door for her
But she can hold her own just fine
She has seen her fair share of heartbreakers.

Trust is not something she gives freely
But her love she gives by the bucket-load,
Both willing and unwillingly.

They favour her sister over her
She largely goes unnoticed
Until she makes a huge mistake.

Did she fall in error or on purpose?
How can one so wise be so stupid?
Any one can fall where love is concerned.

Fortune favours the bold
Yet all is fair in love and war
But love is stronger than death.

Perhaps she was wise enough to know
That anything that falls
Must rise again.
