Villain Era

Don't come close. Only will I say it once,
Because second and third chances are done
I'm not someone to be provoked
You'll be drowning in a sea of crimson
If you try to obstruct me

I'm poison ivy to your soul
Like the dark side of the moon
Mysterious but dangerous too
A whisper of breath from me
can turn your heart to stone

The girl who was a pushover is dead
On a pyre she burned along with the baggage
Flames turning into blue stars
As icy and alien as the walls of my heart

I've transitioned into something archaic yet new
Pools of warm emerald are now frozen waters of azure
No longer a saint
Let me be the bad guy,
The one who is condemned, reviled even

Because playing the fair game is getting me nowhere
You get kicked and beaten
Stepped on and treated like nothing
For doing the right thing

That's why I'll be the antagonist
Sticking thorns wherever I can reach
If you cry, each drop is a victory,
As you bleed, remember me.

Note: I try to write about both sides of human nature. I'm not actually becoming a villain.
