Virginia Goes West

Virginia Goes West

Summer draws to a close, the ivy's still there,
and Virginia's having a ball but will soon go bare,
had a good time making love, creeping over all,
have tolerance, otherwise I'll drive you up the wall.

Shadows fall with ethereal grace and mystery,
I hear Alan Jackson pumping out great 'country,'
singing: 'Who's cheating who and who's being true,'
the ivy grins, will still be there whatever the view.

We had some good times, saw you laugh and cry,
don't ever move me please, I'll return with a sigh,
with a whisper in the spring when it's time to renew,
then grow again and I'll stroll over heaven with you.

When the waterfall plays on hypnotic summer days,
I'll rise again to give you love and pleasure always.
