Vultures

Vultures

We've all got these personal vultures

Suctioning that entity of yours;

Your life, your soul, your vitality.

Dependent on your endurance to survive.

They are the ones who drag you down

Down to their level, beneath you

Only to step on you

And use your vulnerability as a ladder

to pull themselves up.

All the while,

Picking apart your self-esteem

Pulverizing your ego

Degrading all you consider valuable.

And you see, there's this funny thing.

If this hasn't happened to you,

I'm sorry to inform you...

That you are the vulture.
