Waiting

You’re still carrying todays burden, I can see
But just look to your window, that’s me
I’ve waited there all day
Well, between naps I do have to say
-
I watch you enjoy every mouthful
And I know you can feel my stare,
You see I’m waiting right beside you
Oh so patiently, for my share
-
I head toward the cupboard
And hope my little yap you will heed,
So I’ll wait just below the drawer
You know, the one that holds my lead
-
As dark clouds gather above us
And our walk delayed by bad weather,
I feel soon, the rain will pass
So we will sit and wait together.Â

Hey JOHN!!.....I agree with C!!....this is so nonchalantly gorgeous....and I especially like that it comes from the dog's perspective....I have never been a dog lover until I met Cherie....and yes....I fell in love with her Australian Shepherd.....he actually likes me!! (whew!).....I was bitten twice when I was young so I've always been a bit "Stay away from me".....but no longer.....anyway, I TOTALLY related to this beautifully delivered poetic discourse the dog has running in his train of thought!!......ALLSTARS!!......well done dear poet brother!!......LOVE & ROCKETS!!......T xo ?❤
Thank you so much Tony, for your kind words. I really enjoyed writing this one, it felt natural.
cheers mateÂ

My Dear John,
Another beautiful write from the mind of a true lover of dogs.
I give you a Haiku in response.
Wait by the window
Till my daddy comes back home
To share all our love
All my love,

John, this has stolen my heart. Words are beautiful and apt.... And that picture! That is soooo like the way my Oscar gazes out of the window (except he is a black Lab). Great writing, my friend x
Thank you Tina, one of my favourites, I used the weather as a metaphor for bad times and it , to me shows how the love of a dog can surpass everything.Â
